Nature & purpose

Chemical properties: Strong acid (pKa=-3, Ka=10 ³), strong oxidant, strong dehydrating agent

Physical properties: Colorless transparent oily liquid, boiling point 337 ° C, density approximately 1.84 g/cm ³

Main uses: phosphate fertilizer production, crude oil refining, non-ferrous metal smelting, medicine, battery (electrolyte), rust remover

Storage and transportation requirements

Dangerous goods grade: Grade 8 dangerous goods (highly corrosive)

Storage containers: carbon steel storage tanks, lead tanks, special alloy or plastic containers (lead containers are prohibited from storing dilute sulfuric acid)

Precautions: Keep the container sealed, heat-resistant and fire-resistant, prohibit co storage and transportation with reducing agents/metal powders/alkalis/combustibles

Precautions

• Operators are required to wear protective clothing, goggles, and acid resistant gloves

• Immediately rinse with plenty of water upon contact with the skin, and seek medical attention in severe cases

• Neutralize with sand/lime in case of leakage, do not rinse directly with water

• Keep away from combustibles and oxidants, avoid impact and vibration
